AQHYA Releases "AQHA Achieve," A Virtual Knowledge Contest for Youth
The three-phase virtual program offers youth worldwide an accessible way to compete, learn and earn recognition.
The American Quarter Horse Youth Association is excited to introduce AQHA Achieve, a three-phase virtual contest that gives horse-interested youth an accessible way to compete, learn and earn recognition – no horse or travel required.
AQHA Achieve is a fully virtual contest designed to test:
Equine and hippology knowledge
Communication skills
Critical thinking abilities
Two divisions are offered:
13 & Under
14-18
This contest is ideal for youth involved in hippology, horse judging, 4-H, FFA – or anyone passionate about horses who wants to put their knowledge to the test.
How the Contest Works
Phase 1: Preliminary Exam All registered competitors complete an online, hippology-style test. ➡️ The top 20 scores in each division advance.
Phase 2: Semifinal Speech Semifinalists record and submit a speech on an assigned topic. ➡️ The top 10 competitors in each division advance.
Phase 3: Finals Hands-On Challenge Finalists receive a finals kit by mail and complete a guided, knowledge-based assignment on video.

1st & 2nd Place: Buckles
3rd - 5th Place: Plaques
6th - 10th Place: Ribbons
Additional Recognition:
Certificates awarded every round to the Top 3 competitors in each division
